Do you or your employees ever tell customers more than they want to hear? A good indicator is the way you typically respond when customers ask, "How are you?" Often without thinking, employees reply with, "Not bad," or "60-40," or, as a security guard once told me, "I'm vertical." Yikes! When customers ask employees, "How are you?", they don't want to hear complaints. It's just a greeting. Remember that you can do yourself, your business, and the world a favour by simply choosing to be more positive when greeted by customers.
