Whether it's fair or not, customers judge you by your ability to speak the local language clearly. Having a foreign accent is fine; even endearing - providing that it's not so strong that locals can't understand you. If people often ask you to repeat yourself, then you have a problem that is likely hindering your professional success. Do yourself and your company a favour and take language lessons until you are easily understandable. That way customers won't have to work so hard to buy from you.
