Quick - name two words which, when frequently used by waiters and waitresses, increase tips by 12%. Answer: 'for you.' Rather than saying, "Would you like some more coffee?", the savvy waiter says, "I brought more coffee over for you." The patron perceives the service to be more personal and tips accordingly - on average 12% more. That's what I call easy money. And it's a great way of increasing your perceived value with customers and coworkers without working harder.
